KINESIOLOGY

“The part can never be well unless the whole is well.” ~Plato

Systematic Kinesiology is a valuable tool in preventative health care, for reducing pain and stress and for improving mental and physical health and well-being. Kinesiology is a system of natural health care that combines manual muscle testing with the principles of Traditional Chinese medicine, working with the inter-relationship between body structure, chemistry, the mind and emotions and energy systems. It is a valuable tool alongside nutritional therapy.

Kinesiology is a safe, effective therapy that uses gentle muscle testing to find imbalances in the body.

Kinesiology is practised worldwide and is used by chiropractors, doctors, dentists, naturopaths, nutritionists, athletes, businessmen and many more.
Everyone can benefit from Kinesiology, from baby to the senior citizen, from fit to the infirm and injured. Kinesiology is ideal for preventative health care. Kinesiology does not focus on specific symptoms, but tests for and corrects imbalances throughout the whole body/mind system.

During a session, a client lies fully clothed on the couch and a series of muscle tests are performed on legs and arms to assess neurological function and energy balance of the muscles and their related glands and organs.

History of Kinesiology

Systematic Kinesiology was developed by Brian Butler based from the original creation of Applied Kinesiology of Dr. Goodheart. The theory of muscle testing was first developed by R.W. Lovett, an orthopaedic surgeon, who was working with polio victims in the 1930s. It was further refined by Dr Goodhart, an eminent American chiropractor, in the 1960s who founded Applied Kinesiology. The International College of Applied Kinesiology was established and twelve doctors worked on the research into muscle testing. Kinesiology has been continually refined and developed incorporating added techniques from Eastern and Western medicine. Systematic kinesiology is a totally holistic therapy using the body's bio-feedback mechanism through muscle testing to gain information about the client.

CONSULTATIONS
First consultation involves a detailed case history concerning your health and lifestyle. You then lie fully clothed on the couch and a series of muscle tests will be performed on your arms and legs to assess neurological function and energy balance of the muscles and their related glands and organs.

A first session can last 2 hours
Subsequent sessions are one hour. Three sessions are generally recommended but each client is unique and will be assessed at the first consultation.
Many clients have regular kinesiology sessions every three or four months as a preventative measure to try and keep in good health.
